Assignment of Apartments
Applicants may request to live with a specific apartment mate(s). Applicants who do not express an apartment mate preference will be assigned based on the information gathered in the application questionnaire. Applicants may request to be assigned to live with someone from the same graduate program, although many apartments are occupied by students from more than one school.
How Do I Apply?
Once accepted into one of the graduate school programs, you may complete the On-Line Graduate Housing Application.
Parking and Transportation
Junior, Senior and graduate student residents of the Evans Apartments have parking available. Parking decals are required to park in these lots and any other lot on campus. Decals are available for purchase from Parking Services. In addition, a covered bus stop is located next to the 900 building and stops every 30 minutes during the week, as well as selected hours during the night and on the weekends. The bus system traverses throughout campus and the local Williamsburg community.
Apartment Council
Apartment Council is your opportunity to make your voice heard about Evans Apartments policies, programs and the purchase of equipment for residents. It is a great way to get involved and be instrumental in governing the area. The Apartment Council is the active interpreter of the university’s principle of self-determination. Self-determination allows members of a residential area to develop the guidelines and procedures of self-governance, which allows for both individual freedom and the privacy and personal rights of others in the community. Evans Complex residents enact this responsibility through their building representatives to the Council.
Residents have the opportunity to develop guidelines pertaining to safety, security and the maintenance of a clean and pleasant apartment community. Any resident of the Evans Apartments who has paid the annual Apartment Council dues may become a voting member of the Council. The Apartment Council upholds its fiduciary responsibility through the sound management of the Council funds. For more information, contact the Community Director or your RA.
