Collaborate with Students & People Outside W&M
Want to use Box to collaborate with a William & Mary student? How about someone outside of W&M? You can! Box offers free accounts that anyone can sign-up for using their first name, last name and email address. They can use these accounts to collaborate on folders with you.
Send an Invite
Use the Invite People link to invite a collaborator to your folder.
Type in the email address of the person you wish to collaborate with.
Click Send.
Receive an Invite
As the recipient of an invite, you will receive an email with an invitation to collaborate on a W&M Box folder. You should click on the link to Accept Invite. This will route you to a page that allows you to create a free Box account.
The free account will provide you with 10 GB of secure storage. The folder shared with you will not count against this storage quota. To create your free Box account:
- Enter your name.
- Create a password.
- Click on Continue and you will receive confirmation that the account has been created.
- Box will then give you a quick tour of the software.
- The folder from the invite will display under All Files.
Next time you wish to access this folder or file, go to box.com and login using the same email address and password you created.
