Major or Minor in Integrative Conservation
The study of Integrative Conservation dovetails with practically any other disciplinary or professional background. The IIC offers several curricula programs, including a major, a minor, and individual courses through which students explore diverse voices, the integration of science, technology, entrepreneurship, human wellbeing, political and economic systems, and environmental justice to design and implement solutions that benefit wildlife and people.
Major
With the Integrative Conservation major, application of diverse knowledge is reinforced by completion of coursework in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as a research project on a real-world conservation issue. The major is designed for students who would like to explore career opportunities related to biodiversity conservation and social-ecological systems in the face of global environmental threats.
Details on courses and credits for the Integrative Conservation Major can be found in the Undergraduate Catalog.
Minor
The minor in Integrative Conservation is designed for students who would like to explore career opportunities related to the conservation and maintenance of cultural- and bio-diversity. It is offered through the IIC and allows students to work across disciplines to address complex global conservation challenges, especially global loss of biodiversity.
