About Pamela
Pamela became Chief Compliance Officer for William & Mary in 2019 and serves as the Acting Title IX Coordinator. She was designated as the university's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer in July 2022. As Chief Compliance Officer, Pamela oversees all aspects of ensuring the university's commitment to a culture of compliance and ethics. The Office of Compliance & Equity is responsible for internal investigations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, compliance with the federal regulations of Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Violence Against Women Act, and Clery Act, response to external agencies, and policy development and maintenance for the university. OC&E also is responsible for responding to requests for records of the university by citizens of the Commonwealth and members of the media.
Pamela has been employed by William & Mary since 2004. She was named Deputy Compliance Officer in September 2013 before serving as Interim Chief Compliance Officer from 2018-2019. Prior to joining the Office of Compliance & Equity, Pamela was the Assistant AD for Compliance and Educational Services and Senior Woman Administrator for William & Mary athletics. In that role, she oversaw the eligibility and academic progress of all student-athletes and she was responsible for educating student-athletes, coaches, staff and boosters on the NCAA regulations. She also served on the senior athletics staff and counseled on budgetary and Title IX issues related to athletics. Pamela graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1994 with a B.B.A. She continued her education at William & Mary and earned a JD and an MBA in 2000. She is a member of the bar in both Virginia (Associate) and North Carolina (Active). She is a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) and an ATIXA Certified Civil Rights Investigator.
