What's Next?
A timeline from now to arriving on campus
We know you're excited to start your William & Mary experience. This general timeline will help you plan for important events for admitted students, watch for additional communications from William & Mary, and meet deadlines for everything from submitting your enrollment deposit to completing your online academic preparation course this summer.
Student Transition Engagement Programs (STEP) provides a comprehensive list of new student requirements. On May 1, the Tribe Guide will go live, providing a detailed checklist of all new student requirements.
Now!
First, find your W&M student ID number (nine-digit number beginning with 93 at the bottom of your decision letter), and then activate your W&M student account with a secure, personalized password. Your account can then be accessed by selecting Banner on myW&M. This will activate your W&M Outlook email account (powered by Microsoft 365), which you should check regularly. The standard format for a W&M student email address is wmusername@wm.edu. You will also need your email address on your admission application.
Early December
Early Decision I - Deadline to submit the CSS Profile to W&M to receive a financial aid estimate. All Early Decision I admits are encouraged to submit the CSS Profile as soon as possible. Instructions are provided by the financial aid office. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available, and we encourage students to complete it as soon as possible. For questions, please contact the financial aid office.
January - February
Check this welcome site and your application portal periodically for announcements, events and new featured videos, and check your W&M email at least once a week. Additionally, please have your school send your mid-year grades as soon as they become available. Oh yeah, and don't forget to relax!
Early to Mid-April
This is a great time to visit campus! Don't miss our Day for Admitted Students (DFAS) on Saturday, April 12, and You Belong on April 11. Or consider attending a Green & Gold Days event if you cannot attend DFAS. More details about our admitted student programs will be available in early spring. If you can’t make it in person, check out our virtual tour.
May
On May 1, the Online Tribe Guide launches for all enrolled students and their supporters from Student Transition Engagement Programs. In Late May, the first round of online Tribe Guide required forms are due.
