Our Commitment to Virginia Students

Making a smart decision about your future involves balancing financial options with long-term benefits — and we are committed to making our top-ranked W&M education affordable for in-state residents. The total cost of attendance is frequently one-half that of top private universities.

All first-year applicants are automatically considered for three merit-based programs. Students can also apply for additional scholarship opportunities.

Benefits of a W&M Education

100% of tuition and fees covered for eligible Virginia students

All in-state, Pell-eligible students will automatically receive scholarship assistance to cover at least tuition and fees, as well as any additional demonstrated financial need beyond that (as determined through the FAFSA and CSS Profile). About 20% of first-year, in-state students receive Pell Grants.
