COVES Science Policy Fellowship
Commonwealth of Virginia Engineering and Science (COVES) Summer Fellowship
The COVES Fellowship is a 12-week, full-time summer fellowship program operated by the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine and open to STEM graduate students at William & Mary, VIMS, and other research universities in Virginia. During the program, fellows receive training in science policy and communication, spend time in legislative offices, executive agencies, companies or nonprofits in the state, and are paired with a mentor. Fellows are also involved in briefings, meetings and an annual summit in August. The program begins with a week-long bootcamp on science policy, governance and policy making in Virginia. The program includes a stipend and funds for professional development. Arts & Sciences will submit up to three nominations from W&M to the COVES organizing committee, which will then choose one (or two, if funds are available) to represent the university in the program. For more information about the program and fellowship dates, visit the COVES Fellowship webpage.
