Jill H. Vogel '92

Jill VogelJill Vogel is the managing partner of a national law firm specializing in charity, non-profit organizations, election law, and ethics. She has spent her career counseling corporations, non-profits, and government entities on complex regulatory and ethics rules. She is consistently recognized as a top lawyer in her field, and she speaks frequently on issues involving corporations, non-profits, ethics, and lobbying rules. She is the co-founder of 50 to 1, a state government affairs management firm, and a principal at the Vogel Group.

Ms. Vogel previously served as Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Energy, working with the White House, the Energy Secretary, and other Federal Agencies to implement Energy initiatives. Ms. Vogel also held the position of Chief Counsel of the Republican National Committee, where she led the national party's legal effort during the 2004 Presidential election.

Ms. Vogel served four terms in the Senate of Virginia, representing Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County, Fauquier County, and parts of Loudoun, Culpeper, and Stafford counties.

During her tenure in the Senate, Ms. Vogel was named Legislator of the Year by the Virginia State Police, the Virginia Court Clerks Association, the Virginia Treasurers Association, and the Commissioners of Revenue Association of Virginia. She has also been named Champion of Justice by the Virginia Association of Commonwealth Attorneys, Virginia Autism Project Legislative Champion, Virginia Education Association Legislative Champion, Virginia League of Conservation Voters Legislative Hero, and received the Humane Society of the United States State Legislator Award. She retired from the Senate in 2023.

Ms. Vogel is a 1992 graduate of William & Mary and a 1995 graduate of DePaul University School of Law. Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Ms. Vogel lives with her husband, Alex, and their children in Upperville, Virginia.
