Capstone Colloquium

The Japanese Studies program held its Senior Colloquium on Friday, April 26. Eight students from JAPN 415 gave presentations on their research papers. The presentations were divided into two panels: "Youth Culture in a Hyper-Consumption Society" and "Alienation, Disaster, and Society in Contemporary Japan." 

The Colloquium also included an awards ceremony. There were Kinyo Awards presented for each level of Japanese language study, and a Book Award for a graduating senior who has displayed exceptional talents and promise in the field of Japanese Studies. Ryleigh Line received the Book Award, while the Kinyo Awards were given to Tyler Seigfried (level 1), Tony Bowers (level 2), Emiko Buntin (level 3), and Chloe Kim (level 4).
